Version 13.0.1 is now available for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, adding the final fighter tweaks, and ending any development outside of the game’s general upkeep after nearly three years. And while not all fighters saw a change, the update brought more changes than many fans thought.
A total of 22 fighters, not counting the Echo Fighters, saw some form of adjustment in the final patch. Especially for competitive behemoths Pyra and Mythra, this saw some serious nerves inflicted on them.
Most of the patch was used to improve fighters who either lost ground in use or saw some but didn’t produce results. Ike, DK, Ryu, Robin, Link, Mega Man, and pretty much every other character listed has received some form of positive change.
Meanwhile, Pyra and Mythra, along with Min Min, received nerfs. These were mostly about adding more vulnerability frames after certain moves or adjusting animations and durations for move or other attacks.
There are also a handful of other general changes that have been made to Ultimate. Here are the full patch notes for what will likely be the game’s last major update.
General
- Samus (Terror Metroid) & EMMI (Terror Metroid) amiibo are now supported
- Note: If you access an amiibo in Games & More and place those amiibo in the NFC area, you can receive their spirits.
- Note: Samus (Terror Metroid) can be used as Figure Player (FP)
- Several issues have been fixed to improve the gaming experience.
