Riverside Theaters Announces New Season Of Online Programming


The iconic Riverside Theaters is bringing the buzz of live theater to homes across Australia with a new season of online programming, including its popular children’s festival.

Following the successful launch of Riverside Theaters Digital in 2020, this year’s return season features an assortment of live and on-demand theater, interactive workshops and musical performances, including shows such as David WilliamsonEmerald City, Don Reid’s Codgers and the comedy cabaret I Have a Face, with Jude Perl.

“Riverside Theaters have been entertaining audiences for over 30 years, so it’s wonderful to see that despite the pandemic this long tradition can continue with another great digital program,” said Parramatta City Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer.

“The performing arts bring so much joy to our lives – and now more than ever we need this escape from reality that theater offers. Every Friday night we bring a new play to our audience at home. Following the online shows party, viewers will also have the exciting opportunity to chat with the performers in a question-and-answer session. “

From September 17 to 24, Riverside’s Spot On (line) children’s festival will take center stage. This popular annual festival promises to keep the kids busy during the school holidays with a variety of shows online, including a concert from the Playschool presenter. Justine clarke; interactive workshops, from musical creation to shadow theater and circus; as well as watch parties and Q&A live online with the artists.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue to share stories and performances with the people of Central River City and beyond through our online programming, while supporting the arts industry during this difficult time,” said the director of the arts. Riverside Theaters Craig McMaster.

Riverside Theaters, West Sydney’s premier performing arts venue, attracts over 180,000 spectators for up to 1,000 performances and events each year. It is a successful cultural and community asset of Parramatta City Council.
