Yahoo is recruiting an experienced Production Engineer, DNS at its Bangalore site. They are looking for detail-oriented candidates who enjoy working in an open environment. We expect candidates to eventually become experts in their own field, identifying problems, proposing solutions and driving their own agenda. Roles and responsibilities:

The ideal candidate must be able to:

  • Building software and systems (latest open source and in-house solutions)
  • Ensure exceptional quality and performance for the services that run the business
  • Design, manage and carry out projects that help move the company forward.
  • Work with network and data center teams in the relentless pursuit of modernization demanded by the Internet.
  • Securing user data and internal systems by working with Paranoids (our security teams)
  • Write tools and develop systems and methods to debug and analyze systems.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience. Typical candidates have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Candidates should be comfortable with coding and be willing to learn or code in a variety of languages. Perl, Python, golang, PHP and C++. (I don’t expect anyone to be an expert in all of them. 🙂 )
  • Candidates should understand basic networking principles and can explain how and why packets flow the way they do.
  • Candidates should have a basic understanding of RHEL and know how to manage and troubleshoot such systems.
